Conscience of the Human Spirit: The Life of Nelson Mandela

I recently completed my entry for this USA/SA collaborative exhibition of quilts representing an aspect of Nelson Mandela's life. The work was inspired by a song written by a friend, Don Clarke, and Kalla Bremer, who won the 2014 Great American Song Contest with 'The Long Walk is Over'. (www.greatamericansong.com/hall-of-fame). The song popped up on my Facebook at exactly the time when I was worrying over a design for my entry, so that was serendipitous and Don kindly gave me permission to use the words and images in whatever way I chose.
The exhibition will travel though South Africa for the coming year and will then travel America, under the auspices of the Michigan State University Museum, until 2018.
