On Monday 26 September we did a technique workshop with
Ina Meyer inspired by the work of
Susan Lenz. We fused various synthetic fabrics, stitched the designs with black cotton thread and then burnt the cutouts with a soldering iron to produce a stunning effect.

Scattering snippets of synthetic fabrics onto the synthetic felt back ground. |

Ironing fusible web to hold all the pieces together. |
|
Tracing the design. |

Stitching with black cotton thread through the paper design onto the back of the felt. |

More stitching. |

Diana's piece. Front of work, stitching finished. |

Lorraine's work. |
|
Sheila's work, removing paper (what a job!). Ina suggested tracing the design on soluble stabilizer next time. |
|
Soldering. |

We all learnt so much and thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. Thank you Ina for a great morning.
