Mandela Tribute Quilts Catalogue

A fabulous publication accompanying the "Conscience of the Human Spirit: The Life of Nelson Mandela" exhibition, first presented at the IQCAfrica, Johannesburg 24-26 July 2014, has been produced by Marsha MacDowell (Michigan State University Museum) and Carolyn L. Mazloomi (Women of Color Quilters Network). The publication includes the 81 tribute quilts from South African and US quilt artists. Images of the quilts, more information about the artists, and longer versions of the artists' stories about these quilts can be found on the Quilt Index (www.quiltindex.org)

Congratulations to the five Cape Town artists (Jenny Hermans, Madeline Marsburg, Morag Scordilis, Diana Vandeyar and Sheila Walwyn) who are represented in the travelling exhibition and book.
